While he was living with his son, DeWayne, in Waterbury, CT, he did many paintings in the area. These include scenes at Fulton Park in Waterbury and “the farm” in West Cheshire, CT. DeWayne’s parents-in-law, Walter and May Doolittle lived on the Doolittle farm on Marion Road where Jesse visited during weekends. He also visited Bantam Lake in Morris, CT, where he spent time at Apple Hill Farm. While at Bantam Lake, he painted scenes along the East and South shores. These scenes illustrate the shores of the lake and show the colors of the seasons, the bright spring greens, the vivid fall reds and yellows, and the white winter snows.

Both Jesse and Eurilda passed away while living in Connecticut. Eurilda died at age 71 in New Haven, CT on February 16, 1931, and was buried in Pittsburgh, PA. Jesse passed away in Waterbury, CT at age 72 on March 26, 1935, and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY. Both artists have left a legacy of beautiful art which will continue to be recognized and appreciated for generations.
